The Senate of Canada Building has been recognized on the international stage with a 2020 Civic Trust Award, the longest-running international awards program recognizing outstanding architecture, planning and design in the built environment. The Senate of Canada Building was just one of two North American projects to win the award. Last night, ERA had the honour to be awarded the Lieutenant Governor’s Ontario Heritage Award for Excellence in Conservation for two of our projects: The Greenhouse Restoration at Parkwood Historic Site and the new Senate of Canada building in Ottawa. The Paradise Theatre has been restored to its former grandeur, making it once again a fixture to the Dovercourt neighbourhood. As heritage consultants on the project, ERA worked to reinstate many of the attributes of the building lost over the years. On Friday we celebrated a great 2019 CAHP Awards in Winnipeg with our friends and collaborators. The MOCA Toronto building took home an Award of Merit in the Conservation - Architecture category. ERA is also celebrating the recognition of the Greenhouse Conservation project at Parkwood Estate National Historic Site with an Award of Merit in the Conservation - Small & Lovely category.
