ER: Focus Program

Creating the Alumni Wall. I am in the process of creating the Alumni Wall but I am still hoping for more contributors. It is really shaping up to be a place for today’s students to get inspiration seeing those who came before them actually in the jobs they are considering. Please if you are willing to send a picture of yourself in uniform, putting full name, your home school, year you think you were in ER, what post-secondary program you did and where, and a brief explana...tion of where and what you are doing now. A call out to all ER: Focus Alumni. Due to the present situation with Covid-19, having guest speakers come into the program will be more difficult. I therefore thought of creating a sort of "Wall of Fame" (Think BSS Wall of Fame). My idea is to ask those of you who took the program and are now in some of the many fields of: EMS/Law Enforcement/Fire/Nursing/Corrections/CBSA (Please forgive me for the fields I have missed as I am not suggesting they are not important, I just... forgot to name them....oh, Military...see!) Would you be willing to send a picture of yourself in work gear/uniform, state where you are working now, list your home school and the year you were in ER (if you can't remember list some students in the course with you, don't forget your full name as well!) Finally, and only if you are willing, your email if students have questions that can email to you (if you would prefer that only I have that please state and I will not make it public) My intention is to post everyone's picture (in colour) on one of the back walls so students can see all of you who have passed through the program and have actually followed your dream. This video was created by the Limestone District School Board to give a brief description of the Emergency Response Focus Program. The program is offered first semester to grade 11/12 and returning students interested in careers in the emergency response fields. Please note: we do accept students from other boards into the program.

Butch Snider is an amazing individual who is a retired member of the Correctional College. He still runs self-defense training, and has gratuitously agreed for the past few years to train the ER class in some basic moves
