What did everyone get up to over the long weekend? Any adventuring?!

This 3D feature that Facebook is incorporating is super interesting and Im digging it. Im also looking forward to getting back out and exploring my own backyard. Theres no place like home. What are you doing for the long weekend??

One of the things that I learned is that the thing that separates good photos from great photos isnt the great, is the person behind the camera. The best camera there is, is the one that you have, so Ive put this top sheet together so that as things open up, you can get the best out of the tech in your pocket. Enjoy!

With all this cold weather, Im counting down the days for summer and being back in the water. Ive never been much of a winter adventurer, but if you are, what winter activities do you suggest?

CLIENT UPDATE: First off, I will continue to honour changes and postponements without any penalty whatsoever. This public health pandemic is no ones fault, and well be allowing clients to move their date, ideally within 2020, beginning after May 30. Of course, well be keeping an eye on information from our local, provincial, and federal health professionals, and those future dates are subject to availability in response to this crisis. So pumped about heading back to the UK with a new camera. Last time I went, I was just in awe at the beauty and history that Brits live in everyday. I kick myself daily that I didn't take the right lens, but also really appreciate that I got to immerse myself in all that richness. Love travelling and seeing new things and chatting with new people. It spurs so much creativity and a desire to see life from different perspectives. Can't wait to see all my friends and have some 'bangers and mash'!

This is still one of my favourite shoots that I had. I was blessed to find such an amazing human being who was unapologetically herself. She claimed to not have that much modelling experience, but She. Killed. This. Shoot. This shoot made me push myself and it'd be surprising to most how much work goes into a session from concept to final images. She's dope, the wardrobe and make up artists were dope and the location - Hotel Arts - was also dope and super accommodating. One of my favourite in-city getaways to this day. #ThrowbackThursday #TBT #Throwback

The hike to the Ink Pots was one of the reasons I decided to get back into the gym and hit it hard. 11 kilometres round trip was enough to humble me and make me think about all of the great photos I was missing being out of shape. I'm nowhere near my winter beach body, but I will definitely be able to conquer this hike and any others like it in the future. It's amazing how photography has been such a positive influence on my well being; and it's so much better being 30 pounds lighter lugging this six foot frame around on the daily. See you all on the other side of dropping another 20 pounds!

With all that said, Im excited to take some great photos in fresh snow on a mountain top. Bright side? No . What are you looking forward to during the winter?

Well summer, we barely knew you. Cool thing that happened this year though - after 7 years in Alberta I finally got to Moraine Lake. It was nuts and I'll definitely be going again. Probably in the winter. Pray for me.

But let me tell you, 11 kilometres round trip for someone as out of shape as I was put a whole lot of humilty in me and motivated me to get in the gym.
