"Felice", a study in oils, until I can once again return to my favourite café.
In these times of self or imposed isolation, I thought this painting evoked what it's like for someone in Mile End. It was done 15 years ago but I thought it was appropriate for now.
Lucio cleaning the pool. Watercolour sketch at Puerto Morelos.
If you want great authentic Italian cuisine in Mile End then you must try Barcola Bistro on Park Avenue. And, if you're lucky enough to get the table by the front window, you'll also be able to enjoy my painting hanging beside you!
Working at night (rare for me) on something new. I usually prefer to work in natural light but tonight I couldn't help myself.
"Pay Attention", oil on canvas. It's definitely time to keep an eye on what's going on around this world.

I am very proud of this painting, "Lebanon is Crying". (about the 2006 invasion and partial destruction of Lebanon). I am told that she now hangs between a Matisse and a Picasso somewhere in the Toronto region. "Lebanon Is Crying", 2007, oil on canvas, 36"x30"

Choucroute garnie. This is the first time I've included one of my dishes on my artists page but I've now come to realize that my culinary creations have as much right to appear here as my paintings. I never made this dish before but once I have a vision for something, I need to manifest it. Creating is the same, whether for painting, poetry, literature, theater, dance or food. So now, you may see more of my food creations here as well as my paintings. Enjoy and Happy New Years!
In memory of my mother-in-law Zelda Brand who passed away last week in New York and was a great supporter and had this painting of mine proudly always on display in her Lower East Side apartment. Will always miss you Zelda.
Looking back; this painting done around '87-88 seems to be very appropriate today. Copyright, Erik Slutsky. All rights reserved 2017
