Happy holidays, Merry Christmas, and anything else that you may be celebrating today. It’s been a hard year for most of us and so I’m wishing you all the gift of gratitude. Pause to take stock of who and what you do have that you’re grateful for. Take a moment to give thanks and really take it in. Also acknowledge any feelings that may be there about how this holiday season may be different, or difficult, and any loss that accompanies that. We can always make room for all o...f our feelings. Although gratitude and grief may seem opposite we can make space for and hold them both. Sending love to you all and hope for a better 2021, Erin

Can't afford therapy, don't have a health plan, or can't get into a therapist (because many of us have very long wait lists and/or are not accepting new clients!) but need some help with managing anxiety right now? I've heard good things about this program: https://strongestfamilies.com/ican/

This morning I redid my presentation from the EAMI conference for a group of keen therapists who are all working with or wanting to learn more about working with complex trauma and dissociative disorders. It gave us more time to take in the info, be less formal, and to discuss and listen to the music used. And the most exciting part was that I finally figured out how to share embedded music in keynote while screensharing on Zoom!! I am hoping to present it again at the upc...oming (second) Symposium for the Continuum Model of Guided Imagery and Music happening in March of 2021. When you spend so much time preparing a presentation it’s nice to get a little mileage out of it. #technologyisnotmystrongsuit

There can be no love without justice. One of the most important social myths we must debunk if we are to become a more loving culture is the one that teaches parents that abuse and neglect can coexist with love. Abuse and neglect negate love. Care and affirmation, the opposite of abuse and humiliation, are the foundation of love. No one can rightfully claim to be loving when behaving abusively. Yet parents do this all the time in our culture. - bell hooks from All About Love
