I regret to announce that this May's Open Stage event will be our last, for several reasons... At our last night in March, the weather was too nice and conspired against us, so we had actually had NO audience to appreciate all the fun we were having up on stage. After 20 years of up and down low to moderate success, the final deciding factor was my imminent retirement and subsequent move to Kingston, so this seems a good time to wrap it up for good. The website is open to any...one who wants to carry on with it, and I wish you all the success I hoped for. It was still fun, and that is largely what counts! So I still hope to see all supporters out this May 27th, for one last blow-out. Pass the word so we have lots of talent show up!

Open Stage this Friday! Anyone up for blues??

The January event was just as much fun as ever, but I now see that my event-setting formula will let me down for March. It is usually the last Friday evening of every odd-numbered month (which you must know by now!) but of course that would put the March Open Stage on Good Friday! Subsequently, we have decided to hold it the week AFTER on April Fool's Day (merely for the sake of easy remembrance!) and we look forward to seeing everyone then.

Our Blues night was fun and enjoyed by those that attended - many thanks to George McMillan for co-anchoring and providing half the entertainment. I even got to play bass for the evening! Next night is Jan 29th, with a Love Song theme if possible. Not insisted upon!
