We understand that decisions about selecting the right support services for your child with autism can be difficult. We are pleased to offer free Post-Diagnostic Consultations to those with children who have received a diagnosis of autism within the last six months. Through this consultation, you will meet virtually with a clinician from our Diagnostic Hub who will help guide you in setting goals for your child so that you can take the next steps in seeking therapy and suppo...rt for them. You do not need a diagnosis from ErinoakKids to access this support, but please ensure that you have completed registration with the Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services for the Ontario Autism Program before calling. Our Virtual Behaviour Intervention package supports children and youth with autism. Our trained clinicians will help guide you and your family using the principles of Applied Behavioural Analysis (ABA) to build your child’s skills through ten one-on-one treatment sessions, after two needs and strengths assessments. Parents tell us that our Virtual Self Regulation Groups for children and youth with autism are making a difference. One mother recently shared some of the progress that her son has made since he started participating in this program. She said that not only has he started to tolerate losing games at home with his younger brother, he is also engaging in much less challenging behaviours than he used to. Respite care at ErinoakKids is an essential support service providing vital short-term relief from the physical and emotional demands involved in caring for a child with a disability. The Saturday Day Respite Program is our most popular respite program; it has a one year waiting list that continues to grow and expand as a result of the impact of COVID-19.
