"Thank you's don't cut it, I mean what do you get, for the one who sees a crowd running up, and then decides to run in. It's grace under fire, it's courage for days ... Feels like the sky might fall this time, and all the bad news hits too close to home, and the darkness is drowning the light, I know just who I got fighting on my side" Adam Hambrick's song, which he dedicated to his beautiful wife who has been on the front lines throughout Covid-19, perfectly captures the gra...titude I feel towards front line workers and the people who have gone to work so others could stay safe at home. The nurses, doctors, social workers, researchers, kitchen staff, custodial staff and all hospital workers ... The garbage people, mail people, grocery store staff, teachers, day care workers, etc... Optometrists (love you Ryan, you are a true hero in my eyes), dentists, physiotherapists, therapists, etc... The list is endless and if I could, I would name them all. "You don't size up the costs, no you never flinch, you keep holding that line and you don't give and inch, till the tide starts turning back our way, you give us hope even..." As a mental health professional and as a human being, I say thank you, from the bottom of my heart. You give me hope. https://youtu.be/s7eyrPucStU

Any one feeling tired of saying no while others say yes? No, we can’t see you for a quick Christmas visit. No, we can’t go to the grocery store to pick up one item. No, you can’t have a play date with your friends. It’s endless and it’s exhausting. In the moment, yes would be so much easier... Despite being a therapist, I still grapple with my own feelings. This weekend, after cancelling all plans for the foreseeable future (including a much anticipated visit with my family w...ho live far away) I’ve been struggling with so much anger. Posts and stories from people we know who are choosing not to social distance or not to the extent we are being asked to has me feeling angry. As a family we are sacrificing our time together for the common good of our community and country, while others indulge in one another like nothing has changed... and it makes me mad. And you know what, that’s okay. It’s okay to feel angry, indifferent, sad, at peace... all the feels are okay, it’s what we do about them that truly matters. So tonight I am choosing to sit with my feelings... to journal, to pray, to grieve, to offer grace to everyone, and to live IN-SPITE of these feelings. Please... join me, however you are feeling, in honouring your own emotions in this very weird and uncomfortable season of life #ldnont #londonon #londoncanada #community #mentalhealth #therapy #psychotherapy #counselling #talktherapy #therapist #psychotherapist #mentalhealthcare #mentalhealthawareness #health #healthylifestyle #supportmentalhealth #therapyiscool #therapistsofinstagram #anxiety #grounded #healing #selfcare #intentionalliving #covid_19 #covid #socialdistancing #lockdown See more

Let’s make it our mission to be kind to one another, despite the pain we may be carrying throughout this next phase of Covid. We are ALL struggling, some of us just carry it with greater ease than others #ldnont #londonon #londoncanada #community #mentalhealth #therapy #psychotherapy #counselling #talktherapy #therapist #psychotherapist #mentalhealthcare #mentalhealthawareness #health #healthylifestyle #supportmentalhealth #therapyiscool #therapistsofinstagram #anxiety #grounded #healing #selfcare #intentionalliving #covid_19 #covid

I find it so odd that while life has slowed down so much because of Covid, it’s my mind that keeps me busy. I still need these little moments of actual slowness, where the house is quiet and still, to catch up to myself. Can anyone relate?

Anticipatory anxiety is a real thing. I can feel it ramping up in myself, my kids, and my family and friends as we begin to think about the Christmas season. A time once filled with tradition may very well be filled with many firsts.... the possibility of not getting to see extended family, or to wander the stores while enjoying Christmas music, or to come together as a community and volunteer our time. It’s hard to know how this will feel, so check-in with yourself as you get ready for the holidays and reach out for support if you need it! #psychotherapy #holidayseason #counselling #londonontario
