Economic Students’ Association presents: Oddball Interview Questions Preparing for the 21st Century Interview Friday, March 12th from 7:00 8:00 PM Two $25.00 Amazon Gift Cards will be raffled off at the end of the event!... To register for the event, click here: https://utoronto.zoom.us//tZwrdOuspz4tHNRx4bM36wZ26hOsyTbT Your cover letter, résumé, and LinkedIn profile made a great first impression, your references proudly endorsed you, and you’ve prepped for the most common interview questions. But are you ready to answer a recruiter’s oddball interview questions? How would you answer the following job interview questions? How many golf balls can fit in a school bus? If you could sing one song on American Idol, which song would you sing? If you could be any animal, which animal would you be? Why is a tennis ball fuzzy? What does brimborion mean? These unusual interview questions are known as psychometric questions questions that attempt to gauge your cognitive ability, personality, and attitude and they are becoming increasingly popular with recruiters who are looking to hire the right talent. You may be asking yourself the following: Why are an increasing number of recruiters asking oddball interview questions? What are recruiters looking for in a response? Do oddball questions have a right or wrong answer? How should you answer these unusual questions? What do your answers reveal about you? If you're interested in learning how to respond to oddball interview questions and are curious about why recruiters ask them, please join the ESA on Friday, March 12th from 7:00 8:00 PM to find out! Get ready to have some fun!

Welcome back to a new semester everyone! To start off the year, the ESA is launching a Mentorship Program! 1st and 2nd year economics students can apply to be mentees and 3rd and 4th year students can apply to be mentors. This is a great opportunity for mentees if you have questions about upper year economics courses, programs, or just want advice from an upper year student. For mentors, you can share your U of T knowledge and advice. This is a great opportunity to make friends in different years of study in an informal, supportive, and friendly environment. If you are interested in participating, click the link below and fill out the google form by January 18th at 11:59pm. https://linktr.ee/ESAUofT
