Educator Positions for our the Diversion Starts At Home Bin program. Help us deliver the new waste package to our community members!

Eskasoni's Green Dream 19.04.2021

My phone died during the live but i think i got everything down. Any further questions can be asked in the comments of this post or sent via message on this page. Heres a summery of the live for those who may have missed; This opportunity was funded by the First Nation Solid Waste Management Initiative Fund via the Federal government at no cost to our community. ... This will take us several months to complete. We are hoping to get started in mid-May and finish in september. This is if things go smoothly and according to plan. This program will lead to jobs for many in our community. With the program needing an assembly crew, an education crew, and several iron workers. A video explaining all the items and products households will be recieving will be posted in the coming weeks. Every household will recieve the whole package. Apartments are slightly more complicated and will need to be sorted on a case by case basis. Though we are hoping that most, if not all, will be able to participate and recieve the package. We will be helping our community to switch to clear garbage bags by providing 100+ clear bags with each package, as well as 100+ blue bags to aid in recycling efforts. The package will also include an education piece and materials to help you properly sort your waste. More details to come. We are hopeful that this will be part of the solution for the rat problem our community faces. The outdoor rollcarts will be very difficult for the rats to chew thru in comparison to the current systems, which are essentially free game. This is currently a resident focused program. Businesses and Organizations will need to work with the solid waste management team seperately in order to address their waste issues. Such as compost and recycling.
