Way to go, Raija! "Raija launched a fundraiser for Ronald McDonald House on her 10th birthday last week Tuesday, Oct. 6. It brought me to tears, said Raija’s grandmother Zena Chelsea.... Ronald McDonald House did a lot for our family, and for Raija to give back that just shows she appreciates it, and that’s something she came up with herself.

#Orangeshirtday is intended to raise awareness of and acknowledge the harms of the past. Beyond that, may this awareness lead to #realchange -in the area's of Justice, Education, Child Welfare, Poverty and Health and anywhere Indigenous families are still fighting ongoing injustice and discrimination. Visionary Kukpi7 Fred Robbins can be credited for setting these Orange wheels in motion with his "Commemorative Project" in early 2013, and Phyllis Jack-Webstad who shared her powerful personal story at this event.
