It is an EXTREMELY sad day, here at ESP Grooming. This morning as a favour for a long time client and friend, I picked up his beloved dog Cobalt, from boarding. I was going to groom Cobalt, (he was 17.5 ears of age, and I have been grooming him for about 16 of those years). Cobalt, had, had, VERY rough time at boarding and was near the end of his journey. As I drove with Cobalt to the shop, his long a weary journey came to an end, and he passed away quietly, with me stroking ...his coat. Cobalt, and his younger brother Jessie, who ended his journey a few years ago, were ALWAYS friendly loving companions to Steve and Janna. Janna, unfortunately, was taken WAY too young, from this earth and her loving husband Steve. Jessie and Cobalt provided Steve with endless amounts of love and joy in his time of need. Cobalt was ALWAYS a GREAT dog for grooming and NEVER even considered giving me a moment of trouble. I was blessed to have been there to help him rest as his journey ended. RIP Cobalt.

Drove past the NEW location of Green Lane Animal Hospital, (now at the corner of Aileen and John St). Seen their sign reminding pet owners to get their flea and tick medication now. As a groomer with 28 years experience, I can attest, that last year was the worst, I have EVER seen for ticks. We had a number of clients come in with ticks, that the owners were unaware of. Thankfully, we have a tool to assist in the removal of ticks. BUT, why risk your pet's life? for the relati...vely low cost, (compared to the financial and emotional costs of having the treat your pet for Lyme's disease). Well, it MUST be spring, had the first "skunked dog" of 2019 arrive at the shop, a couple of days ago. I always recommend for the back yard get a motion activated light to scare raccoons, and skunks when the light comes on. Also try to scan the area before opening the door.
