Enter Stage Right 11.10.2020

On this overcast Saturday, we thought you deserved some happy news. ;) On February 29th, we had the honour of presenting scholarships to three graduating members of the company whose efforts and dedication to ESR were truly deserving of recognition. Since not everyone was able to make it out to the show, we’d like to publicly celebrate the achievements of these members. Here's a look at the third speech and award presented that night:...Continue reading

Enter Stage Right 06.07.2020

This Saturday, February 29th, Enter Stage Right presents the One Act Play, Typecast, along with a variety of musical performances from current and past members of the company. Throughout the evening, we will have the honour of presenting our 2020 Scholarships to talented members of the company who are graduating this year. But, before we present this year’s awards, we have one more 2019 recipient we’d like to publicly congratulate! As a member of Enter Stage Right from 2017... to 2019, Britney Burton was an incredibly dedicated, hard working individual who contributed creativity, kindness, and positivity to the cast and crew. Acting as a leader from the beginning of her time with the company, Britney routinely went above and beyond to not only ensure the success of the show, but to encourage and uplift every individual working on the project. Whether helping to organize things backstage, rehearse scenes and lines with fellow performers, or complete any task whether big or small to make sure every last detail was impeccably completed, Britney embodied qualities that set her apart as an apt and compassionate leader. As a performer, Britney was charismatic, fully bringing each of her characters to life. Whether playing the role of the pessimistic Madison Clark in After the Battle, or the narcissistic, high-strung Helen La Rue in A Good Man is Hard to Find, Britney cultivated performances that were believable, engaging, and true to the essence of each character. While she stood out as an impressive actor in each of her roles, she also worked to ensure that her performances complimented those of the characters with whom she shared the stage, creating memorable scenes in both productions. As a co-op student in her second year with the company, Britney approached every task set before her with a strong work ethic and determination to garner attention and support for the mission of Enter Stage Right. She was professional in her interactions with members of the community, and inspiring to potential participants. She collaborated well with both directors to ensure that she was completing her duties with a high degree of excellence, and demonstrated exceptional commitment and attention to detail in everything that she contributed. Members of the company not only looked to Britney for guidance and support, but saw her as a role model, basing their own contributions to the company on the example set by Britney. Britney undoubtedly has one of the kindest hearts we’ve ever encountered, and demonstrates respect and compassion for every person with whom she works. Based on her impressive leadership abilities, contributions of creativity, and outstanding commitment to the success of both Enter Stage Right and its members, we are pleased to award Britney Burton with the 2019 Gold Standard Award. <3
