Masks play an important role in reducing the spread of COVID-19. Masks can also be hard on your skin, causing problems like acne, irritation, itchiness, peeling, dryness and rashes. To help prevent skin problems from developing and to treat some existing problems here are some helpful skincare tips. Use a gentle moisturizer immediately before putting on your face mask and after taking it off. Skip makeup and take a break from your mask for 15 minutes every 4 hours if possible.... Hand wash your mask every day with hypoallergenic detergent. A barrier cream or spray can help with friction. Petroleum jelly can heal any irritated spots. Wear a properly fitting mask. The friction created by a mask rubbing on your face or the material of a mask can aggravate your skin and any existing skin conditions.
