Esther Fest 07.12.2020

Unfortunately, it doesn't look like Esther Fest will be happening this year, but we're not giving up on the idea. I'll soon be reaching out to members of the community to see who might be interested in forming a group to take it on for next year! Stay tuned! In the meantime it looks like Esther Cox is now on Twitter and telling the story of the Great Amherst Mystery through tweets. Things just got weird last night, Sept. 5, 1878! https://twitter.com/EstherCox1878/status/1037545694498828288

A big thank you to everyone who took part in Esther Fest this year. To all the groups who included their events in the listings, to the people who volunteered their time to promote Esther Fest and help create the special events, and to all of you who took part in the various activities: THANK YOU! This was just a small trial run, but the hope is that we can do something even bigger and better next year with a lot more time to plan and promote. We're hoping the Town of Amherst..., NS will become the place to be for people who love the paranormal and spooky stories. Here's to Esther Cox and The Great Amherst Mystery. And if you haven't had your fill of the story yet you can still learn more about Canada's "most famous ghost story" online. There are two new podcasts about the story which were just released last week: https://www.nighttimepodcast.com/episodes/ https://www.missedinhistory.com/podcasts/esther-cox.htm Or if you have Netflix you may want to check out Portal to the Unknown. The first episode tells the story of the Great Amherst Mystery.
