Christmas is in a month. . Celebrating will look different from years past but still the joy of our Saviour’s birth carries through. Students took to decorating the college in expectation of the season before us.
Don’t just press in for yourself, press in for next year’s class and the next generation. . Last week we were honoured to have Dale Anderson from Calgary Full Gospel Church with us speaking in classes and chapel. He shared stories from his life and a stirring word from Luke about John the Baptist. Like John may our lives be in preparation of Jesus’s coming.
We missed hosting our greater Eston family at Behold and look forward to the day we can all meet together again! In lieu of Behold, we hosted an in-house conference for our students called The Feast. It was a time of celebrating Jesus and enjoying community in anticipation of the wedding feast of the Lamb. Students spent time outside enjoying the last warm days, played a life-sized version of ‘The Oilman’, and participated in a variety of workshops including Lego building. Guest speakers Daniel Hoogteijling (via Zoom) and Matt Weisbroad shared God’s word in chapel services. The Feast concluded with a banquet honouring Jesus for his sacrifice which allows us to become a part of the family of God.
Recently, one of our sessional teachers, Dr. Dustin Burlet, was interviewed on Answers in Genesis. He mentions the influence of G. S. Mclean, Eston College, and InterVarsity Circle Square Ranch Halkirk around 44:30. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TuV2DV8pBgM
My grandfather John Fortune, fought in the Second World War when he was only 16 years old. He has passed on now at a late age in life, but every Remembrance Day is an important time of the year where I find myself remembering him and all who served alongside him. He did not share many stories with me, but even as a young girl, I noticed the impact it had on his life. I am thankful to live in a beautiful and free country because of the sacrifices many men and women have made, some costing them their lives. I never want to take my freedom for granted. - Heather Fortune, Worship Intern For all freedom has come at cost. So today we remember the sacrifices made for our country as well as the great sacrifice made for all mankind. May we not just see the fruit of suffering, but remember those who paid its price.
Time brings change, still God remains the same. . - 1965 - 1976 - 2020... . Over the years, the campus here at Eston College has continued to grow and change. We have seen students come from all over the world to attend here, study the word, discover His presence and be sent out to advance His kingdom. The campus has had its changes but our mission has remained the same. . As we look to the future, we are grateful for God’s provision and this space to equip students tounderstand the Scriptures and experience the power of God. See more
