Isla Collective Virtual Market is now live and there are over 700+ listings up from Vancouver Island local artisans participating in this amazing online market. I have a few of my gift items up. What's great about this market is that shipping is included with the price so you don't have to go all the way to check out and find what you need.... Thanks for thinking local!

The Practice. Lately, I’ve been very diligent in getting my practice down to a science. What do I mean by this?... If we are what we repeatedly do, then my practice will require some kind of study so that my work is consistent and in line with my beliefs. I make sure there’s no rushing into each step of the making process (as I have done in the past) and give myself ample time to slot in a time in my day to work on one part of the making process before doing the next thing. So for example, it started with confirming the design of course and sorting out logistics. Next I made a sample to confirm the look before making the rest. (Trust me, I’ve made mistakes before where I didn’t measure twice and cut once) Today I engraved all the mounts and recorded a little reel. I can’t wait to show you. I still have to finish making the rest of the rubber stamps as well as putting them together and packaging which I should be able to finish up by next week. What is your practice like as a small business owner? Do you leave some time in between process? I’d love to know. Introductions or re-troduction? for those who know me a little or a lot. We all get to decide what energy we want to spread the moment we wake up and do the things. A bit about me in the framework of 2020:... * It was bad the first 3 weeks when the pandemic hit but after that it was actually an awakening for me and all that was lost were really just things that were perceived as important. * I learned that I am more introverted than I thought I was. * The uncertainty of this world gave me affirmation to spend more time with the right people and that gave me incredible freedom * I didn’t know how much I’ve neglected my personal boundaries and personal growth until this year so for that I have this year to thank for (I know not everyone feels the same way but it did that for me) * I have a huge curiosity for plants ; didn’t grow up knowing much but we all start somewhere and staying curious is my jam * I’m working on getting better at video and video editing so I can teach what I’ve learned. * If there’s one take away I learned the most this year is that change happens when you change the language you have within. I’d love to hear you start from where you are and introduce yourself the way you would to a dear friend. . . . . .
