A big thank you to the WSF Women's Studies and Feminist Club for hosting Porn and Pints 3! Many fantastic conversations about feminist pornography, lead by a fantastic panel! One of our Eudaimonia team members, Jenna Nakamura, was one of the panellists and we are so proud! The panel: (information from the Porn and Pints 3 facebook event page)... Léa Santana is our guest of honour and will be leading the panel. She is a PhD Student in Gender and Feminism at the Federal University of Bahia. Her research focuses on Culture, Media and Sexuality. She wants to focus our disucssion on the encouraging changes that are happening in the porn industry. Jenna Nakamura is a sexual health educator for junior high and high school students in Calgary and surrounding areas. She is also the host of The Sex Dojo podcast and SexEd home parties. She wants to help normalize sexuality so everyone can get the sex they want without shame or judgement. Tiffany Sostar is a self-care and narrative coach with a focus on helping marginalized individuals find their way to the centre of their own stories. Their undergrad thesis research focused on the ways in which queer pornographers reclaim and reframe standard porn narratives (particularly the money shot), and how feminist porn has expanded the available narratives. They're particularly interested in how porn can be part of a person's self-discovery and self-care, both in the production and consumption sides of the equation.

Canada is rocking the field of sex research! This article is full of juicy information. As we prepare for our upcoming workshop, Orgasm FUNdamentals on June 11, we would like to point out two great points about this article: Workshop link:http://bit.ly/2qEbH5K... 1) "When it comes to sex, it should be said, men and women are far more similar than they are different" (they are talking about people born with a penis and people born with a vulva and vagina). This is TRUE! There is significant overlap and this is the reason we created the workshop, Orgasm FUNdamentals, to be inclusive to all bodies. 2) Arousal concordance (when the mind and the body are aroused at the same time) is the biggest difference between these two bodies. According to the article, people with vulvas and vaginas only experience arousal concordance 26% of the time, while people with penises experience arousal concordance 66% of the time! WOW! THIS is why it is so important to communicate during sexual activity and not assume someone is aroused by how their body responds. ***Regardless of the person's body, these statistics show that when someone has an erection or a lubricated vagina, there is still a high chance that they are not psychologically aroused.
