Our nervous systems are incredible things that we regularly overlook. Whether it is an everyday activity, a conflictual discussion or witnessing a trauma. Our body holds experiences and works tirelessly to protect us without conscious action. Often our responses aren't within our awareness which causes us to continue engaging in patterns that are difficult. As a practitioner, I (Brittany) am deepening my learning about trauma and nervous system response through Somatic Exper...iencing training over the weekend. Being curious about my own nervous system and its power to support others exploration of their nervous systems has given me so many growth opportunities! I am excited to continue infusing these principles into my practice! #personalgrowth #revelations #professionaldevelopment #bodytomind #somaticexperiencing #bodyawareness #thenervoussystemknows #ilovelearning #eudaimoniawellness #mentalwellness #psychology #yqf #yeg#yyc

What does this statistic say you? Is it reduced stigma and increased opportunities for open conversations about mental health? Or is it a reflection of the current climate of society and its negative impact on youth? #kidshelpphone #mentalhealth #mentalhealthawareness #mentalwellness #openconversations #damagingmentalhealth #pandemicrelated #reducedstigma #saveourkids #yqf #yeg #yyc #albertamentalhealth #canadamentalhealth

Wise words from one of my favorites @the.holistic.psychologist So often people come in to share frustration and gain insight into how to get someone to stop doing something or start doing something else. News flash... you can't! Letting go of things outside of control is extremely vulnerable for us because control is how we create our perception of safety. If we begin to incorporate awareness of what is and is not within our control, we can then choose to bravely move forwar...d through the situation (however moving forward looks for you) - instead of retreating in fear which can reinforce our maladaptive behaviors or thought patterns. Take a moment to assess your dilemma. What (and who) can you realistically change? Focus on the changes you have control over. #repost #control #awareness #creatingsafelyforourselves #bravelymovingforward #eudaimoniawellness #mentalhealth #relationalimprovement #mentalwellness #yqf #yeg #yyc #albertamentalhealth #psychologythoughts #intentionalfocus
