Pastel with Watercolour under-painting 7x10, W&N 140# cold pressed paper. The Pond

Winter Serenity 9"x12" Pastel I've been experimenting with using more mauve in landscapes. Lots of alterations from the source picture for composition (the right hand bank in the foreground moved, the middle of the trees opened up, season changed, etc.). I wanted the stream to lead the viewer.

Morning has Broken Pastel, Mi-teinte paper, 9"x12" Considerable license taken with the source photo to create a more balanced composition.

Bucolic Valley Watercolour, Graham paints, W&N 140# CP paper This is based on a nearby valley which gets a bit warm and lazy in the summer.

Watercolour, 11x15, W&N 140lb cold pressed paper This is from a visit to Vancouver Island a few years ago. The two mama ducks were quacking away at their broods from the rock. Sometimes rocks are really difficult, but I like how this one turned out.
