Organically grown fancy daffodils now available for purchase at my road side stand. My flower wagon is now up on the boulevard at 541 Alder St. In Campbell River with organically grown potted fancy daffodils for sale. The flower wagon will be up at the road 7 days a week from aprox. 10am - 6pm. Also, if you have any extra 1 gallon pots, I'll take them!!!

It's been sunny and windy (also chilly) which means that plant pots and newly planted seedlings are getting watered. Ezri and Lela are wherever the hose or watering can are although it is only Ezri that chooses to get soaked. This love of water is no surprise as you can see in this throw back pic of them taken on Oct. 5th.

We've brought out our deck furniture and accessories which means I have been enjoying a pre-dinner glass of wine while I scroll through the day's news at the end of the work day. The far end of our deck gets sun until 5:45pm-ish at this time of year and while the temps have been a bit chilly, I don't care, I just love it! It's definitely still too cold to sit outside in the evening, soon though, soon. On rainy days the rug gets rolled up and tucked under the roof line and the pillows get stored in a tote, but I might actually start leaving the rug out on the rain to wash away the pollen it collects (after a quick vacuum). I noticed in this day photo I took on Monday that pollen is already collecting on the low side of the deck tiles.

I was going to plant out my radishes this past week but my phone weather says it is going to snow Saturday night so I decided to wait. No point in chancing it. What has already been planted can easily be covered with a drop sheet, plastic or both as the two planted beds have mini fencing sides and cattle panel ceilings. Of course snow is no longer in the forecast but -3 is for Monday night. What I have done garden wise for the week is order these really cool cutting sun flowers. Aren't the colours fun!? I can't wait to see them blooming. I have also done my weekly head count of sprouting dahlia tubers and I am now up to 58 with a final goal of 120 to plant out. I actually expect to surpass my goal and have extras to sell pre-sprouted and potted up ready for planting out.

These teeny tiny, pansy perfect, clear glass vases are covered in a myriad of coloured glass chips that have been only lightly fused to the glass to maintain their texture. Surprisingly heavy for their size, each is aprox. 1-1/2"Wx4"H and the set of three sells for $20.

Do you know what season it is in flowers? It's pansy season! I have two large pots that I bought. One by the front door and one by the front gate. My limited edition photo print "kaleidoscope of Pansies" is taken from the front gate flowers. This photo reminds me of butterflies flitting about. It makes me happy.

I was asked last week if Lela or Ezri ever get tired. Here are some photos to prove that they do. Sometimes napping in the most inconvenient places. Also, did you know that as of Feb 1 they are now 6 months old!

Our new laundry room is close to complete. It's small at 7x9ft and shares the space with a now enclosed hot water tank as well as the in-house vacuum tank. Still, it has lots of counter (with an eventual bar stool beneath the window), storage and personality. It even has a microwave oven in the upper cab left of the washer/dryer, large white laundry sink to the right and a full size fridge a few feet down the hall.

Step one, garden plan drawn up - did this over the holidays. Step two, purchase seeds i need/want - did this Jan. 23th. Step three draw up the Feb. 1st indoor seed plan - did this last week. I have six, 3"x 21-cell trays (I really dislike smaller cells) drawn up for ease of repeating each month or so per year. By doing this, I can write down notes to keep track of observations. In the past I have not done a Feb. planting as I have only used windows and the sun which cannot b...e done successfully at this time of year. However, new this year I have three 2ft grow lights to get a head start on the season. Cilantro, snapdragons (thanks for the harvested seeds Rosie), and Sweet Peas are new for me so if anyone has any helpful hints please share. See more

Grillin and Chillin Does your loved one like to barbeque? If so, what a fun Valentine's Day gift this limited edition photo print of mine would make. All I need is a few days notice to get it printed to the size of your choice, after which I sign, name and number it.

4-month old pups means no xmas decorations this year inside or out except for in our garden level bedroom that we are currently not using and the pups don't go into. Here, for fun, I have displayed a few favourites.

This first photo is our souvenir of the destruction caused by the vehicular destruction last week. It's part of the flattened fire hydrant. When the truck took out our side fence, it also took out a chunk of our rhododendrum in the side garden. Earlier that same day I had resized and dug out the north centre dahlia bed. It made sense to chop up the rhodo branches and put them at the bottom of the bed(s) for a slow break down. Waste not want not - or lemons/lemonade - both apply.

Evelyn M Interiors 15.10.2020

Last week when the truck tore through our side fence, it destroyed about 25% of our side garden rhododendrum. These Rhodo bits are from the broken branches. I thought I would give them one last moment of glory before they get composted. The branches are staged here in this ombreyed animal patterned blue artisan glass vase that is 11"Hx9"Wx3-1/4"D. The image on the right is looking down on the vase so that you can see how narrow it is. Perfect for a mantle or narrow shelf. This vase sells for $34.

These three Xmas cards I created first as mixed media on 18x24" canvasses, then I took photos and finally layered text over two of the photos. As with all my art cards, I always have some in stock for purchase. $4.50 each or 5 for $15. All my xmas cards are also available through the CR Museum gift shop.
