The Douglas College Creative Writing Department (Douglas Arts ) is looking for this year's Virtual Indigenous Writer in Residence. The position will be held for one week, from February 22 to 26, 2021. The writer will receive a $6,000 honorarium. I feel that there has never been a better time to teach these valuable lessons of haiku than right now, in these uncertain COVID-19 days. Young people are spending more time in nature. They are reflecting on inner thoughts. They are appreciating the small gifts of beauty all around them. What a great time to set that all down in this concise poetic form.
