Evergreen Home for Special Care 26.09.2020

On Friday July 24th, 2020. The Evergreen Community celebrated our amazing staff. During this event, staff were provided with fabric face masks which had been donated by Staff Members, Evergreen, the Valley Hospital Foundation, and Vanessa Austin. We were also excited to share with the staff, that Éminence Organic Skin Care had donated deluxe samples of their Monoi Age Corrective Night Cream for Face and Neck- to our staff to assist with skin care issues from wearing a mas...k all day while working. We also had a big announcement to share with staff. Evergreen had been the reciepient of a $10,000.00 donation from Canadian Tire in the form of Mark’s gift cards. With this money Evergreen has purchased scrubs for the staff to wear during an outbreak. This meant that staff could change at work, wear Evergreen scrubs during their shift, change at the end of the day, and Evergreen would take care of the laundry. Staff could feel confident in not taking dirty uniforms to their home and potentially exposing family members. Evergreen would like to thank our amazing, and dedicated staff for all that you do on daily basis to help our Community. We know we could not ask for a better team!! Thank you all!! We would also like to thank Candian Tire, Marks', Éminence Organic Skin Care, Valley Hospital Foundation, and Friends and family who donated items, for the generosity that you have shown during such a stressful and challenging time in our history. We thank you for helping us to feel safer, cared for, and loved. And one added thank you to Sable Shortbread, the cookies were a huge hit! Thank You so much.

As of June 15, 2020, across the Province, Long Term Care Homes will begin to allow outdoor visitation, by appointment, for residents and their families. As these clients are more susceptible to suffering COVID-19 related complications due to increased frailty and high prevalence of underlying chronic health conditions, it is important to make sure these visitations are conducted in a way that keeps residents safe. Evergreen is still in the process of creating guidelines on h...ow to conduct Outdoor Visits safely as well as establishing a team to receive appointments calls, screen visitors and accompany residents to their scheduled family visits. We would like to ask for your patience during this time of preparation. Follow-up communication will be sent as soon as the start date of outdoor visit is determined. At this time, we are asking that you do not call Evergreen to schedule a time. We will communicate with the families when we are able to begin scheduling outside visits. Thank you for your patience and understanding. Stay Safe, Evergreen Home for Special Care
