I have a couple of spots open on Monday nights for online tutoring, and I also can work in daytime sessions for homeschool kiddos or high school students who are on that wacky rotating schedule. A bit about me...I am a certified Ontario teacher. I worked for the school board for about 6 years, but left to start my own school as I wasn't happy with the way school boards are run, and their approach to learning. My approach is simple...no two children learn the same way, so no... two children should be taught the same way! This just isn't possible in a classroom of 30 kids and 1 teacher. Which is why so many kids get 'left behind'. Another thing that bothered me is that the focus of school board programming is quite often in line with the available funding, instead of being in line with the educational needs of the children. This has lead to a lot of disconnections in learning - eg. the "Phonics Police" not allowing phonics to be taught in kinder...I can't even count the number of children I have tutored over the years that have been adversely affected by this HUGE loss in learning. I could go on and on about how the boards are failing our children (don't even get me started on the "new math") but I'll leave you with this..I can help where the boards are failing I have been tutoring for a long, long time! I started tutoring when I was in high school, and have actually never really stopped. (I don't want to count the years, because that would make me feel really old lol, but let's just say it's been over 25 years.) I am certified to teach all grade levels (Pre-K through High School) and all subjects, excluding French (Je parle seulement un peu le Français).
