We often get asked if we allow pets and there are some great reasons we don’t. Don’t think we aren’t pet lovers because we definitely are. The main reason for not allowing pets is to preserve the wildlife experience for our guests. To lay by the pool while a graceful deer walks by, to sit in the hot tub while wild turkeys walk around, to sit by the river while otters play. This would not happen if the scent of pets was around. We provide you with firewood when you stay with us. We love our local forests and it’s so important we protect them from invasive species that can be spread by the transport of wood. It has been heartbreaking to watch the slow and steady decline of our huge ash trees from the emerald ash borer. So come stay with us and don’t worry about firewood. We got you! We also provide you with dry kindling and paper to make your life a little easier. We are a completely private cottage. We are located on 20 acres that adjoins our own home 20 acre property. There is a year round hot tub and the pool is 20x40 and is for your own private and exclusive use. Most years, the front fields are planted with corn that grows as high as 10 feet or more and it completely blocks off any view of the road and civilization. This place is quiet, peaceful, and totally private. It’s is the perfect sanctuary to escape from the world, and reconnect with what’s important.
