I am so excited to be the first artist of the @slickconcertseries at Sweaty Betty’s on Nov 23rd! I’ll be taking the opportunity to explore and celebrate femininity through the ultimate badass that is La Diablesse! . . La Diablesse has been known through Caribbean folklore as a woman who seduces and enchants unsuspecting men, luring them to their death. The name La Diablessegiven to her translates to The Devil because it has been speculated that she was the devil in half... human/half animal form. Over the years, many stories have been told of who La Diablesse was and why she does what she does. On Saturday November 23rd, I will join the SL!CK concert series and reimagine La Diabless’s story as a true heroin for black womxn. Avenging those who have been wronged and marginalized by society and challenging society's fear of sexuality and femininity. Join us on a whimsical night through a multi-disciplinary performance with unreleased tracks inspired by my Afro-Caribbean roots. Space is limited! Tickers are in bio
