If you have an existing March appointment, I will be contacting you by email this week to reschedule you in to April.
Update: I have a new surgery date. Feb 23rd. I will likely be off work from Feb 22nd until the first or second week of April. To avoid any more schedule upsets, I will hold off on putting up my post-recovery availability until after details are more concrete. If you have any March or April bookings please just leave them as they are, and I will contact you directly to reschedule as needed.
Ok guys! February availabilities are now accessible through online booking, or by contacting me directly. All March bookings are sitting in limbo until I hear news about my new surgery date.
Update: The call came today. My surgery is being bumped. The good news for all of you wonderful humans is that I will no longer be absent from work in February! I will post a February schedule soon! watch for updates!
Update: As of Monday January 18th, you will no longer need to get the referral note for massage. (Unless you need it for your particular insurance plan, just as before.)
I’m waiting on confirmation from my association about the referral note requirements, in light of the government announcement today... hopefully good news to come....
Referral notes are still required to go for massage. The massage associations are advocating for the refining or removal of this hoop that Dr. Hinshaw has you all jumping through. The massage associations recently sent this joint letter to government officials. https://www.nhpcanada.org//joint-letter-to-ab-minsters-jan
Need a template for your massage therapy referral/permission slip? Dr. Hinshaw would still like you to get one of these. The notes can be signed by ANY regulated health professional. (See comments for the template, as well as the list of regulated professionals that can sign.) If you happen to already have a current massage prescription written within the last year, no need to go out and get another referral note, just send me a copy of the prescription please. (These notes/r...eferrals have absolutely NOTHING to do with your access to insurance billing. If you require an actual annual prescription for massage from a medical doctor to access insurance billing, that is a completely separate stipulation put in place by your insurance company. The current referral note requirements are just a Covid rule temporarily placed on massage therapy by Dr. Hinshaw.) See more
