I am truly honoured to win the Medicine Hat & District Chamber of Commerce Young Entrepreneur award! 5 years ago I saw an opportunity, not only to fill a gap for local businesses in need of marketing support but to also craft a career doing what I loved every day. I’ve mentioned before that entrepreneurship is a wild ride, with many ups and downs, but I won’t bore you with that storyline. Ultimately entrepreneurship is about moving forward, overcoming obstacles, and learning ...to ask for help. I am so very grateful to the people who have, and continue to, support Evoke

It was such an honour to help craft the message for this meaningful Connecting Community campaign with Leslie Jerry from the City of Medicine Hat and Flag Five Inc. Keep an eye out for these posters around town and visit https://www.medicinehat.ca//community/connecting-community to watch interviews with some incredibly inspiring locals! Just like its citizens, Medicine Hat is more than what you see and that's why I'm proud to say that #imahatter

Special shout-out to the Veiner Centre and their new Facebook page! Follow them to stay connected with community programs and essential information regarding the well-being of older adults in Medicine Hat. The 50+ community is one of my favourite demographics to to create communication plans for because they are active, engaged, and have more freedom when it comes to time and money. They are often over looked by large campaigns, which is shame, as Evoke has found that targeting the 50+ crowd in an innovative way can be the most effective use of your marketing dollars (depending on your product or service, of course).

Have you registered for the WIB Virtual Inspire Luncheon 2020 yet?! Evoke has been a proud sponsor of the Women in Business - Medicine Hat & Region for over 4 years and I am excited to see the committee take their usual spring luncheon online this year! The WIB has opened so many doors for me both personally and professionally. By attending these events, I have met so many incredible and ambitious women who make a difference in our community. I encourage the professional women of Medicine Hat to attend tomorrow's FREE virtual inspire luncheon and find that spark of motivation and connection we've all been missing during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Evoke is celebrating five years in business by giving away five free marketing consultation sessions! In the middle of all the COIVD chaos, we realized that Evoke Inspired Marketing had its 5th Birthday (thanks Facebook memories) but it wasn't the right time to celebrate. Now that Alberta is in the middle of relaunching, we would LOVE to give back to the business community by giving away a free consultation session to five deserving businesses. As you can imagine, we've gain...ed a lot of experience and burned through A LOT of notebooks working with 90+ organizations over the years. We would love to give your business a boost too! Nominate a business by tagging their page or the business owner in the comments below.

It has been so uplifting to see a little more positivity in the news lately! However, businesses are still in the thick of this pandemic. We have put together a few Facebook tips to help businesses get the best out of their social media posts in the next few months: 1) Get the most organic reach out of your content by posting during prime times! Find your individual page’s unique prime times by using what we like to call the Blue Whale. To locate the Blue Whale start at y...our page’s Business Manager, click Insights and then Posts in the left side menu. You will see a graph that shows the times of day your followers are online. We recommend posting 30-60 minutes before the peak time, so the posts are already online when these users log on. 2) Save yourself some time and schedule your Facebook posts in advance! The Facebook algorithm doesn’t love third-party scheduling platforms so posting through those will result in your post being seen by fewer people. However, you can schedule posts through the Facebook publishing tool, which the algorithm favours over third-party competitors. You can do this by going through Business Manager, Publishing Tools, Create Post, and change the Share Now to Schedule 3) Respond to all of the comments you get. While this seems like a no-brainer, it is especially important during these uncertain times to strengthen the connection with your followers. 4) As marketers, we are constantly asked: Should businesses be quiet on social media during this difficult time or should they take advantage of the increased Facebook scrollers? The answer is two-fold: + Radio silence is not the way. The Facebook algorithm favours pages that post regular and relevant content, so if you stop posting altogether, it will be more difficult in the future to build your page’s organic reach. Also, people don’t remember what you say, they remember how you made them feel. Posting a light-hearted or meaningful post that brings comfort or optimism in an uncertain time can bode well for the connection you are fostering with your audience. + Note that we said relevant content. We are NOT supporters of just posting for the sake of posting. We are supporters of content that is purposeful, useful, and engaging. This is when Brand and Social Media strategies come in handy! If you had the foundation of your brand already determined, it should be easy and inspiring to create social media content within any context. For tips on how to write social media posts during the COVID-19 pandemic, check out our post from April 1. If the social media world is overwhelming you and you’re not seeing results from your post, book a free consultation to chat about how Evoke can help your business. https://www.evokeinspiredmarketing.com/schedule-appointment
