April 4-June 6 Videos are sent out on Sunday, and left up until late Early Mon AM the following week. So you have 7 full days to complete what you have signed up for. Gyms are part of the solution, not the problem. I voiced my opinion about the new restrictions. I cannot believe how scared people are still. The media can make gyms sound so bad. If we all just do our part, we will be ok! How many times do we hear about things we can do to boost our immunity? Not much, right? We hear all the fearful things. ... The gyms need to open. We all have gone over and beyond to make our spaces are safe. We are not about to put our maximum numbers in, I would be happy with 15% capacity, 15%!! One of the local gym owners mentions, small studios are not ready to open nor ready to have a bunch of people. We will not be running at full capacity for a really long time, years or ever, but what we do need is to be allowed to run some small groups like before to fit our business model. New Monday, New Month, New Goals Nutrition check - if we are looking to lose weight, we need to be at a calorie deficit each day. We need to make sure we are getting enough protein as well, good fats and carbs. Strength Training-we need to build muscle to burn fat. And stay consistent. I recommend minimum 2x per week. This depends on your goals though. Sleep- this is how we recover, are we getting enough? ... Water- daily intake? Stay hydrated. Self care - whatever that may be, just embrace it and make time for it. Thank you to everyone who has signed up for the Feb/Mar online series! It has kicked off today but you can join at anytime! Well I’m not smiling big yet .... this is the look after yesterday’s new lifted restriction update. I was really hoping for at least 15% capacity aloud back. Excel fitness strives on group fitness, and this is uncertain once again when it will be aloud. Until then I will keep my head high, and be grateful for the fact I can at least open for one on one training. I realize that this isn’t in everyone’s budget right now, so I have some options online and in studio coming soo...n! I tried something called Xpress one on one group training before the 2nd shutdown, and this seemed to work out for a week! Stay tuned as I brainstorm some sort of schedule within the next few days. That all being said- the studio will be opening for personal training on Feb 8th! On another note- the next 9 week online series starts tomorrow! It’s never too late to start! Thank you for everyone’s support online and I cannot wait to open these doors to SAFE and SPACIOUS group fitness! We all have that something. Something that aches, or something that limits you. It’s all good I have you covered, this video shows demonstration of different options for a movement. And I’m not taking cardio here (skiing, biking, hiking), I’m talking strength training. ... Lean muscle mass naturally diminishes with age, this is a true story! You'll increase the percentage of fat in your body if you don't do anything to replace the lean muscle you lose over time. Strength training can help you preserve and enhance your muscle mass at any age. Strength training can also help you: Develop strong bones. By stressing your bones, strength training can increase bone density and reduce the risk of osteoporosis. Manage your weight. Strength training can help you manage or lose weight, and it can increase your metabolism to help you burn more calories. Enhance your quality of life Strength training may enhance your quality of life and improve your ability to do everyday activities and reduce your risk of injury. Building muscle also can contribute to better balance and may reduce your risk of falls. This can help you maintain independence as you age. Manage chronic conditions. Strength training can reduce the signs and symptoms of many chronic conditions, such as arthritis, back pain, obesity, heart disease, depression and diabetes. Sharpen your thinking skills. Some research suggests that regular strength training and aerobic exercise may help improve thinking and learning skills for older adults and in general for everyone’s mental health. Need to start?
