New Post on my new Website
My Dad and his partner Norris Kirk bought Kirk's in 1971. Kirks Sheet Metal Products was born. I was 6 at the time and spent much of my childhood in this building. My first summer job was washing windows. The close-up window was the welding room which was the hardest to clean. My son AJ had his first job here as well. In 2015 AJ and I bought the business changed the name back to the original Kirk's Heating and built in a new location. This week was hard for my parents, selling the property, going through a lifetime of "treasures" and watching the building come down. A few of the treasures we found were Dad's sign and their last business license. I am grateful for all they taught me about being an entrepreneur.
What is your view of 2020? I have 0/220 vision in my left eye....meaning without a contact I can't even see the BIG E on the top if an eye chart. I was a young teen before they realized it because thankfully monovision works ok. But nothing is sharp or crystal clear. Now that I am older and need a little help from reading glasses, those who know me can tell if I have my contact in or not. If I do I read things at a normal distance if not I read it about 6 inches from my le...ft eye. My 20/20 vision of 2020 is that I am learning to value progress over perfection, "busy" is not a badge of honour and no longer wish to multi-task. What can you see clearly now? Let's start the year off with gratitude- what are you grateful for?
2020 has given us all time to look at our lives. They say hindsight is 20/20 but so was the year for me. What insights did you gain this year that you will take with you into 2021?
What brings you joy this holiday season?
