What are you doing to recharge? For us to remain in peak state as leaders we need to infuse fun and some activities into our schedule that builds our energy and allows our subconscious the space to process complex problems. When we don't take the breaks we need to recharge, we are unable to summon our best self. Like professional athletes we have to build recovery time into our routines to reach high performance expectations.... So with that in mind, how will you plan to recharge this weekend?

Bias for action! We work with many leaders to help them find clarity and to set an executable plan to achieve their goals. But no matter how good the plans are... without action they are useless. A skill that we can bring to any relationship is our ability to listen. To listen to what is being said, to listen for the significance of the words being used and to listen for the underlying tone that may suggest more than what is being presented on the surface. It's through great listening that we can ask insightful questions that will deepen the relationship. And through deeper relationships we find greater connection and shared purpose.... How would you currently rate your listening skills and where may you be able to improve?

Staying ahead of the competition. There are not that many truly unique products or services these days so we have to learn how to differentiate... and that is often through the customer experience. The same holds true for differentiating ourselves... we are of course uniquely different but we also have an opportunity to add creativity to what we do everyday. ... The hard part is that we are often running so fast, that we don't take the time to sit back, reflect and tap into our creative side to improve what we deliver to others. So if you are feeling marginalized or as a product commoditized... may we suggest you take a break and tap into your creative side and show up differently.

How do you communicate, more specifically how do you handle and manage your expectations? Sometimes you think there may be an agreement or understanding, but if it's not reciprocated or the results are different. Is there a reason for this? Did you verbalize your expectation? Did you clarify they have all the need because what you may be thinking isn't always what the other person is thinking. Do you have any examples of this? Would love to hear from you. #coachescorner #communication
