Exeter Skating Club 25.04.2021

Our Junior and Senior skaters worked hard, had fun and made the best of this ever changing season! We are thankful they were able to return to the ice post shut down and are hopeful next year will bring the return of competitions, showcases and carnivals. An awards night to celebrate these skaters will take place at a later date once temperatures increase and we can safely gather outdoors.

Because one ice pad in South Huron does not and never will meet the needs of the community. The community of South Huron needs sufficient facilities that will continue to meet the needs of the community now and into the future. We need a solid plan that allows all programs to continue with a commitment for the future. The Committee of the Whole is currently recommending that the Stephen Arena be closed following the 2020-2021 season. This is to be taken to council for a vote ...on February 16, 2021. A vote in favour of closing this facility now, will cause a significant shortage of ice time in the municipality. Now is the time to let council know how this decision will impact you and your family! While there are members of council working to put the best interest of all minor athletics and youth in South Huron forward, we ask that you let your voice be heard to all council members. Please follow the link below for council email addresses. https://www.southhuron.ca/en/government/council.aspx

Today is Bell Let’s Talk Day in Canada. A day to bring attention to mental health awareness. While we wait and hope for a return to the rink (which so greatly benefits the mental health of all our skaters) here are some self-care activities to try! #bellletstalkday #endthestigma #mentalhealthawareness
