If you dont follow @gmt709 on Instagram, you should. ... #supportlocal #farmtoplate #nlfarming From @gmt709 "Winter warmth here in these bowls of delicious lamb stew with carrots, turnip, and green onion dumplings. Flavored with thyme, summer savory, and a small bit of garlic & red wine, the gravy is rich and perfect to be sopped up with those dumplings. I use my mother’s dumpling-making process which has them turn out perfectly every time. The formula is 1 cup ap flour + 1 h TB baking powder + 1 tsp salt + enough very warm water to make a fairly stiff paste when stirred together quickly. Drop by spoonful onto the top of the bubbling stew, cover with lid, and simmer for about 10 minutes. Don’t lift the lid! They should end up being light and fluffy. I had some green onions to use up, so I chopped them and added them into the bowl as I mixed the paste. They added a nice little flavor in there. Shout-out to @exploitsmeadowfarms for the beautiful lamb stew meat. Top notch quality!"
