NLSF just released it is ceasing all grooming operations effective immediately, will share that post also. There’s still snow in areas but everything is getting soft and next week weather is looking like there will be a lot of water and not so much snow. ... UPDATE: Gander District RCMP confirms ice fisher who fell through ice is safe. Gander RCMP has confirmed that an individual did fall through the ice, as suspec...ted, while ice fishing in the southern end of Indian Arm Pond but was able to return to safety. Search efforts were mounted last evening after police received a report of a hole in the ice with an ice auger sticking out from it and a cushion used for sitting during ice fishing nearby. The efforts were called off this morning when an individual responded to the RCMP’s appeal to the public for information on anyone who was ice fishing in the area. The RCMP reminds the public of the volatile nature of ice conditions, especially at this time of year, and the importance of checking ice thickness.
