We are working on an alternate training site so we can start teaching GUE classes again, if our normal site stays closed because of COVID. We will work on managing a new location and make it nice for students, stay tuned.

I think I'm going to start poking around in the bow section again. We found a new area to squeeze through to get in parts of the Ship I have not seen before.

Join us today, Tuesday, December 20 at 1 pm EST (6 pm GMT) for an exciting Facebook Live announcement from GUE President and Founder Jarrod Jablonski. The anticipation is killing us!

Global Underwater Explorers (GUE) and Project Baseline teamed with the Nekton Mission, a UK-based conservation organization, to conduct scientific surveys using... #submersibles launched from the #BaselineExplorer. The surveys documented ocean and reef conditions in the mesophotic zone (60 300 meters) near the Bermuda Islands. Specific mission objectives focused on the collection of video transects, and coral and algae samples, by rebreather divers from Global Underwater Explorers at depths between 30 to 100 meters. Other mission objectives included video and photographic documentation of large animal life including several species of game fish and Tiger sharks. (A movie by JP Bresser)

Some magic has arrived, from Poland!

We finally made some progress exploring the deep trench upstream of Ivy Lea. Francois Tremblay and Steve Blanchard set out on the RB80 and SUEX XK1, from shore, down into a trench at 210 feet. Amazing rock formations and crazy currents. Dive was 120 min. Temp 52deg/f, visibility about 40 feet. There is great exploration possibilities here. More to come.
