No excitement to report. http://www.exploremynation.ca/explore-my-nation/waiting
Thank you to Kelly McLaughlin, who agreed, on very short notice, to share a bit of his story with me. http://www.exploremynation.ca/explor/the-soldier-beside-you
Thanks to my aunt and my Mom for getting me started on this journey about Grandpa Curtis' service in WWII. I've learned so much and there is so much more to research, in hopes of following his footsteps via a motorcycle tour sometime in the future. Please click the link below for the part of his story I have uncovered so far and some great videos on battles fought by Canadian soldiers in WWII. http://www.exploremynation.ca/explore-my-nat/lest-we-forget
Exploring the new neighbourhood. :) http://www.exploremynation.ca/explore-my-/new-neighbourhood
Well, the work trip to Nelson/Kelowna involved almost 1900 kms over the few days. Great to get a bit of a road trip in this summer after having to cancel plans to MB for my dad's 75th. Hwy 31A is indeed beautiful, as promised, but the fun was kind of sucked out of it by getting stuck behind a camper I couldn't get by. Hwy 6 from Fauquier to Vernon in the dusk/sunset hours was also not as much fun as it might have been with the low sun obliterating the road at times. All, in all, the trip was awesome and got a day trip in with a buddy between work responsibilities. Committed some serious bugicide in the last week! I think I've only managed to log about 7,000 kms this year so far - not up to my usual par, but that's the kind of year it's been.
