Happy 2021!! A few of us got in for a dive at Portsmouth Olympic harbor, Kingston today. Two divers were in the inner harbor where the vis ws about 8 ft and the rest went to the anchors from the beach where the vis was a bit better. It was nice to start the year off with a dive.
A last second afternoon dive at the West St boat launch in Kingston. It was nice and sunny and the water was 35 f. It is still silty from the recent wind but we did make it to the car and got see la school of little fish along the way.
Some pictures from 10 years ago on my ice diving course, through the CFB Kingston Dolphin Scuba club . Dive site was the quarry on highway 15 when we had ...access. How time flies when your diving having fun and taking courses Hopefully people will help show why I do enjoy diving under the ice. It is safe with proper training and following the riles. Maybe this year we will have enough ice so I can run an ice diving course. See more
A last minute dive at Portsmouth, Kingston. The vis was only around 8 ft the water temp was 35f. It looked like the site has been hit pretty hard by recent wind. Pictures taken b Dan Galley.

We are hopeful for an exciting upcoming 2021 dive season with the hope of adding new divers to the mix and starting new adventures.for more seasoned divers. We wish everyone a heartfelt Merry Christmas and Happy New Year with safe diving ahead.
Enjoyed a little snow and a dive today at the West st boat launch in Kingston ON. Four of us got in the 49F water for about 30 mins. Congrads to Laurie for getting to dive 100. We saw the card half of the barge the full barge wooden pier and fiber glass sailing boat. Vis was about 40 ft. Running the scooter is great as covered a lot more ground and used very little air. Happy with the black tip.
This afternoon a few of us got out to enjoy a nice November dive. We ended up getting in at Portsmouth with the water being so low. Big thanks to Mike for the shore support. Jason modeled in the pictures. Dan and Dan had a little difficulty getting out of the inner harbor but it makes for an interesting story. Water was 49F vis was around 40 ft. In wetsuits we spent about 30 mins in the water scootering around.
Three of us went to visit the marine museum barge, in Kingston ON. The vis was not bad the water was 53f and we spent 30 minutes in the water (40ft). It was Tim's first time reaching the barge and getting to see the pier and debris along the way.
Some recent buttons and coin that have come back to the surface. Royal navy buttons from the war of 1812 and a 1816 coin..
A Saturday dive to the kgh wreck. The water was not bad but the wind was cool getting out of the water. Looking forward to a Sunday dive.
This afternoon two of us got in the water to look for the motor at Breakwater park. We did not find the motor but know where to look for a dive tomorrow. If anyone wishes to come they are welcome we will be meeting at the shop at 1 pm then heading out. The water is 53F with vis about 30 ft. We used 5 mm suits and stayed in for 1 hour. We would suggest a 7 mm.
I know we have had a couple days of nondiving weather recently but this weekend is suppose to be nice. It is a great time to dive.Air temp will be around 10c!!! We will be diving Saturday and Sunday meeting here at 1 pm and then doing a local shore dive. Dives are open to everyone just show up. If you need rentals or gas show up a little earlier or through the week. Possibly doing other dives to if weather cooperates.
Finally got a couple goodie bags in with a d ring and wire opening. Great for those underwater treasure finds. I know there were a few requests about them.
Dives this Saturday and Sunday. Meeting at the shop at 1 pm then heading out. Will be a local shore dive all are welcome. It is weather dependant.
Weekend diving plans diving both Saturday (Halloween) and Sunday. We will be meeting at 1 pm at the shop on both days All divers welcome. Who know what little creatures we may or may not see because of Halloween. Top of the list may be the dreaded Wolfe Island shark lol. Hope to see divers out and have a Happy Halloween.
Had a nice afternoon dive at the marine museum. Eight divers got in the 59f water wearing a variety of suits from 7mm to 3 mm. The water feels nice and warm we spent 30 mins in the water seeig the car an pier. If the wind cooperates we should have a decent dive tomorrow. Mike did get brown bottle for his grand daughter that was the treasure of the dive.
After reviewing a camera there are a few more pics of the Sunday dive to the KGH wreck. The pictures were done by Tim. One thing he was happy happy about was proof he made it to the wreck before Angie and Laurie. lol
This afternoon 6 of us got in to look for a motor off of Breakwater Park, Kingston. Water was 52 f and we all stayed in from 40mins- 60 mins. Vis was not great but manageable. Looking forward to the next dive.
Some pictures by Dan Galley from todays return dive to the KGH wreck. All the divers made it to the wreck today but some camera issues n the dive. The wooden wreck is in 60 ft of water the water was a little cooler at 57f. It is about a 10 min swim from shore following the line. We are hoping to find some other wrecks in the area. in about the same depth but just off of it Hopefully with the scooters we will find them and have them lined. One wreck is to the east and one to the west plus supposedly an old 30s car. When we get pictures we will definitely share With out adding to the site it still is a nice shore dive.
A bunch of us went for a dive at the KGH wreck, in Kingston today. The water was great 59f at 60 ft. It took about 10 mins to swim to the wreck only 5 mins with the scooter. Vis is getting better and looking forward to tomorrows dive. First couple of pictures are form Dan Galley.
It is getting to the time off year where thicker suits and dry suits are starting to enter into the vocabulary of divers. We will be pulling out our dry suits soon to give them the once over, and recommend you do the same. On a positive note it means the vis is getting better and it will allow divers to do different things. The mud is shrinking exposing more bottles and objects. Also it will allow us to explore more using scooters or just swimming. We will continue our normal shore dives and courses but will be adding more dives to find stuff and explore different parts of the water in hopes of finding something new. It maybe getting cooler but it is a great time to show you are a Canadian diver and enjoy the challenge.
We will be trying an early morning Saturday dive as well. We will meet at 9 am at the shop. It is weather dependant and open to all.
Looking forward to diving this weekend Saturday and Sunday meeting at the shop at 1 pm. Open to all divers will be local shore dives. Might try the KGH wreck on Saturday and maybe break water park Sunday. It is subject to change and depends on the weather. If you need any gear we recommend coming a little earlier. If you have any questions let us know.

Two of us with scooters, Dive Xacesory blacktip, made our way to the stacked hulls but came up short as vis was not great further out. It was 25 ft of vis up to the stop sign. Looking forward to getting back in and diving soon.
