This shoe lazy susan would be a great addition to your walk in closet.

This lazy susan was made for shoe storage however just think of how handy it would be in a pantry or even a garage. The curved ends are fixed and all the other shelves are adjustable.

We just delivered this ash table, 10 chairs and an 8 foot ash bench to our customers. The table measures 42 X 104 plus it has 2 - 20 inch leaves making the table 12 feet long. It is too big for the existing dining room however they are designing their new house around the table. I would love to see it when it's all set up.

We finished installing this mini bar this morning. The cabinets are off white and the countertop is white oak.

Out with the old and in with the new.

A beautiful table for a beautiful home in Fall River. The table is birch, 72 inch diameter and has a 12 inch turned pedestal.

Our customer wanted create some new storage and a place to wall mount her TV. The space was too deep so we moved the cabinet off the wall and this made a nice display area on the top of the cabinet. We made a door for access to the wires and one of my guys got into the 12 inch space to install the cabinet.

We installed a new valance to hide a set of blinds last week. Ready for paint. We don't like using MDF however sometime it is the best product for the job.

This cabinet provides extra storage in a bedroom for a home in Chester. Floors that are not level, walls that are not plumb and ceilings that sag always make our installs challenging.

This walnut table was built for the home show that was supose to be this past weekend. It's an interesting design because there are very few straight lines.

Saturday was a nice day for a road trip and the delivery of this white oak table to Rothesay NB. The farmhouse table with two drawer measures 44 X 110

We made a shot glass display cabinet for someone that has a few more shot glasses than I do. This ash cabinet will hold 195 glasses. I am hoping to get pictures once it is full.

My son Blake's Christmas present. The lines between the drawers don't line up very good in the driveway and I couldn't get good pictures in the bedroom. The wood is curly cherry to match his bed.

Here is another project completed before Christmas. We have worked on this for several months and it's nice to see it finished.

We don't usually get to see our work after the shelves are filled and the rooms are set up. Our customer sent this picture this morning. I think it looks great how everything came together.

A new fireplace mantel and built in cabinets in time for Christmas. We also built a small storage cabinet for the bathroom.

Two birch bookshelves will provide lots of storage for this customer. We are still working on a fireplace mantel and shelving for their living room. I'll post pictures after they are installed.

Cherry TV unit with push release on the doors and drawers. This customer didn't want hardware to show.

We delivered 3 projects in the last week. This birch table has an interesting white finish. It is almost solid white however you can see a little grain and the different boards.

We had to strip and refinish the stair treads and nosing around the second floor, put two coats of finish on the handrail, modify the bottom newel post, paint all the spindles and newel post and re-install everything. There is still a lot of work to be done by other trades however it already has a warmer feel than before.

Delivered two tables last week in time for Thanksgiving weekend. The big one measures 2 1/2 thick, 52 inches wide and 18 feet long and it has 6 benches. The pedestal table is 42 inches round. The wood is knotty pine.

Walnut tables are definitely in these days. The contrast of the walnut top, chairs, lighting and black steel base all come together to make this room look great.

Here is a king size spindle bed and two nightstands delivered last week. The addition to our customers summer home isn't complete however they will have a bed when they come to town next week.

The live edge cherry table we had at the home show has finally made it to it's new home. Not all projects go as planned and in this case we had trouble matching the seats to the table top. We fixed the problem by making cherry seats and shaping them by hand. The following are comments from our customer "We want to thank you again for your attention to detail and resolving our apprehension with the seat situation. We would highly recommend you and the quality of the workmanship you provide". It's nice to know the hard work and extra effort we put into a project is appreciated.

What do you think of the birch painted cabinets. The family has 3 children and wanted each to have their own unit. The shelves are all adjustable and the slat wall was made so coat hooks could be moved up as the kids grow. What looks like drawers on the end are drawer boxes however they pivot out on hidden hinges.

Walnut table delivered in time for Easter 42 round with 2 - 14 inch leaves. The chairs are beech stained black with walnut seats.

While the power was out this morning we sanded toy cars to be donated to the Salvation Army through the Atlantic Woodworkers' Assiocation. The Atlantic Woodworkers' Assiocation has been donating wood toys and giving a cash donations to the the Salvation Army for many years.

We have built a few nice projects in the past few months however once and a while we get one that stands out form the rest. Not only a nice project but very challenging in design, build and install.

We delivered this cherry bedroom furniture this morning. Not all deliveries are easy. After it was all set up it looked great. Another very happy customer.

It is sad to see that a store we built furniture for on Agricola St has closed. We have been building cherry furniture for them for over 15 years. Help spread the word that we are here and would love to continue building for people of Halifax and surrounding areas.

Home show 2018 is now over and the shop is back to normal. It was great to see some of our existing customers as well as meet with new ones. I hope to see everyone at the Home Show this weekend. This 3 inch thick walnut table will be one of the highlights for us at the show. I'll post pictures after it is set up with the base and leaves.

I am posting a few more pictures of projects we built during the fall and winter. This is in the same house as the wine room we posted earlier. The two built in units are walnut, the table is maple.

Here is another table delivered in time for Christmas. This one is rustic maple with breadboard ends. Breadboard refers to the board that goes across the end of the table. The table also has two 12 inch leaves that slide in the end of the table to make it 8 feet long.

Adding leaves to tables isn't something we do everyday however this customer wanted to add two 19 inch leaves to their mahogany table for Christmas. The table slides also needed a lot of work and the center support had to be expanded. The table now measures 54 inches wide and 16 feet long. It's now ready for the turkey.

Another student from Lockview High has completed a 10 week term with us. With that he also completed a pine bench he made for himself.

We have had these live edge slabs around for a long time and finally decide to let our metal guy to design legs for them. I think the floating top idea looks good. The walnut bench with live edge would look good in someones front entry.

This custom birch kitchen table was built 32 inches wide to fit the narrow space between the kitchen island and stairs to the family room. It is 60 inches long and has a 15 inch leaf that rest under the table when not in use.

Walnut, cherry, maple and birch can be found in the new cutting boards made last week.

Here are some pictures of rustic pine doors we built for a summer home. There are 6 full height doors and 4 low doors for excess to storage areas. The wood was sawed to our specs and dried locally.

For all my wine drinking friends here is a temperature controlled room for your favorite 300 bottles. The interior is walnut and the walls are maple with a black stain. Share this great idea with your friends.

We just finished this cherry table and stained it to match our customers cabinets. The table measures 44 X 70 and has 2 - 13 inch bread board leaves. We brought the chairs in unfinished and stained them to match.

I had this poster made yesterday to show that we sell good quality ready to finish furniture. This will go to shops that teach and do work with milk and chalk paints. Ready to finish furniture is also great for a home owner that can do their own finishing.

This walnut cabinet and desk are quite a step up from the melamine units that were in this doctors office. Our customer selected the live edge slabs and the leg design. Now we have to convince her to order a new bookshelf to match.

We delivered this walnut live edge table today. It measures 58 X 58 and has a steel base. The second picture of the table isn't the best but it shows the great view from it's new home.

This is a project one of my guys built for him self over a three month period. He had to cut some of the gears two or three times to get it to work properly. Great job. Drop by the Home Show this weekend and have a look at the clock, some ready to finish furniture as well as finished pieces.

We have had this lathe sitting around for several years and it is nice to see it running again. This lathe can cut French curved legs, gun stocks, axe handles and other irregular shapes. The top unit follows a pattern and the cutters below shape four pieces to match. We only ran half cycle so we could take this video.

We were asked to turn 3 - 6 inch X 110 inch long post for a restoration project in Halifax. The first thing we had to do is extend our lathe. We started with 8 X 8 X 120 pressure treated wood, planed it to 6 X 6 and cut it to length. The wood was wet and turning it is tough because it tears as it is being cut. It also dried and cracked while in the shop for the night. Finishing the job took a few days however it looked good when completed and it should last a long time.

We finished two walnut tables this week which one do you like best? This one is 48 X 120. The top is a full 2 inches thick. The top is the same shape as the tray ceiling above it.

Builtin bookshelves and storage before Christmas

Our customer brought in two rough slabs of live edge walnut and said he wanted a desk made out of the large slab. We flatten them, cleaned the edges, epoxied the cracks, and finished them. At our second meeting he decide to make the small slab a coffee table. We looked at several designs for the base and decided on galvanized pipes. This design may not be for everyone but I think it looks great.

Last week was good for deliveries. We delivered a cherry coffee table, end tables and a TV table. Another customer received a frame for an existing headboard and a 60 inch round oak table. Third was a thick top walnut table. The table was made from 3 boards.

With a great imagination and a talented hand this piece of Mappa burl was turned into a piece of art. This piece of art can be seen in the entry at East Cost specialty Hardwoods in Burnside. I have to stop and look at it every time I walk by.

Here is another storage cabinet. A local interior designer dropped in with two sketches and now you see the end product. .This pantry is made with birch and is painted a colour called Tide Water. The pantry is 5 feet wide and 7 feet tall. The drawers are on 45 kg soft close slides and the shelves are adjustable. This unit will provide lots of extra storage space for our customer.

Most people would love to have a walk in closet. This customer removed their closet for 22 feet of built in cabinets. The cabinets include drawers, tall and double hanging space as well as a floor to ceiling pullout for shoes. We also built the bed, two nightstands, TV lift cabinet and vanity.
