As we leave behind 2020, we are hopeful that the challenges, struggles and pains it had brought with it will all be things of the past. As humans, our default reaction is to flee perilous and troublesome situations and look for a place of safety. But, dear friends, it is the challenges that bring out the good in us. Contexts that attempt to limit our capabilities give birth to new and better ones. We adapt. Limited opportunities help us to become more resourceful and sustaina...ble. The pandemic taught us to value life, time and memories more than ever. That is the experience that we at EXUDE continues to promise affording our patients. We immediately complied with all the government's requirements for a stricter health protocol, and we vow to pursue even higher standards along the way because we value our clients' safety as much we do ours. 2021 does not promise a better life. Dear Valued Clients, Following the recommendations of different Dental Council Boards in US and some provinces in Canada regarding COVID-19, it is with a heavy heart that we are informing you of the temporary suspension of our clinic operations beginning March 17 (Tuesday) until March 31 (Tuesday) or until CDC declares it safe for people to breach the social distancing measure. We believe that this is the responsible action step to:... (1) follow the social distancing measure (2) not compete with the fast dwindling personal protective equipment (such as face mask, surgical gowns, etc) that our frontline health workers are in badly need of (3) to flatten the bell curve (slowing down the spread of the virus to avoid overburdening the healthcare system) However, our communication lines will remain open and will still accommodate patients needing emergency procedures. Rest assured that we at EXUDE are strictly imposing the highest standards when it comes to infection control because the safety of our patients and our own families is our topmost priority. It is our mission during this trying time to use the days off to do more research to further improve our products and services. We understand how this change will impact on our lives, but when this is all over, we will all reckon that it is better to have overreacted to protect our patients and our families than conduct our daily business and imperil lives. We strictly follow infection control and sterilization procedures to ensure that both our patients and our staff are well protected from any infectious health conditions. Our dental centre is in compliance with the CDA (Canadian Dental Association) and CDSBC (College of Dental Surgeons of British Columbia) safety p...rocedures, including the use of gloves and face mask, disinfectant hand soap, chemical disinfectants for countertops and surfaces, and disposable materials. All our instruments are tightly in dental cassettes and will be opened in front of you to ensure sterility. For reusable equipment like dental handpieces, we sterilize them using an autoclave, a dental tool that kills viruses and bacteria using heat, steam, and pressure. We act as if every single person we come in to contact with might have something contagious and protect ourselves and our other patients appropriately. We were already at the highest level of safety clinically but the team has put our thoughts together to become even safer for ourselves, our families and our guests. We have heightened awareness of wiping down door handles, counter tops and common areas but we want to reassure you that coming to the dentist is a clean, safe and sterile place for you and your loved ones, coronavirus or not.
