We are well into 2020 with January behind us. With the start of each new yr I take time to reflect back on the previous yr, the things that went well, the areas to improve on and items to leave behind. I think back to when I was an optometry student wondering where this career would take me. Im so grateful to be doing what I love from seeing patients, starting a small business, designing, speaking and travelling to give eye care to underprivileged communities. When you want... something you work hard to achieve it. It takes commitment, lots of time and daily sacrifices that people may not see. I remind myself to be mindful, to focus on giving myself time to make thoughtful decisions. Often we can let our habits influence our choices but reminding myself to be mindful helps me focus on making choices based on who I want to be and take steps to becoming that person. I dreamt to build my own practice where optometry clinic meets modern retail space meets health and wellness centre. I feel so blessed to have my dreams come to pass and am so thankful for my friends, family, mentors and loved ones.
