Before you think about popping in contact lenses to complete your costume this spooky season make sure that they are regulated! A recent report from the FDA Journal of Forensic Science, showed 60% of the counterfeit lenses and 27% of the unapproved lenses were positive for microbial contamination. https://www.opticianonline.net//contamination-risk-in-fake

Are you someone who always remembers your sunscreen but forgets your sunglasses? The World Health Organization (WHO) estimates that 50 per cent of blindness worldwide is caused by cataracts and roughly 20 per cent of all cataracts are caused or worsened by UV radiation. While most people know that prolonged UV exposure is bad for their skin, and at the very least will wear a hat or apply sunscreen, when it comes to their eye health, they disregard the risks. https://www.thechronicleherald.ca//dr-ritesh-patel-atlant/

ARE YOU HAVING TROUBLE DRIVING IN ALL OF THIS RAIN? Wearing polarized sunglasses when driving in the rain during the day will help a driver see better. Polarized sunglasses work to block horizontal components of scattered or reflected light, which means they help counteract the scattering of light that atmospheric effects like fog or rain have on daylight.
