Eyewear and Vision Centre 11.12.2020

COVID-19 UPDATE The Government of Alberta has mandated that all non-emergency health service providers should not remain open for routine care at this time. Therefore, Eyewear and Vision Centre's doors continue to be closed for the time being. We will continue to answer our phone during business hours if it is in regards to an ocular emergency. This is to continue to try and reduce the burden on our hospital emergency rooms. We will continue to try and return all other phone ...calls in a timely manner. Our office doors are not currently open at this point to allow for pick up of glasses or contact lenses due to the physical distancing measures in place. We are not currently booking any routine exams until we have a better timeline as to when we will be able to open our doors. Thank you again for your continued support and understanding during this time.

COVID-19 UPDATE Today is World Optometry Day. Though our doors may not be open, your ocular health needs are still our top priority. Please don’t hesitate to call us during office hours if you have concerns about an ocular emergency. We are here to triage and arrange care with doctors currently accepting urgent care appointments and lessen the burden on our hospitals at this time. Please leave a voicemail if it is an emergency and we will return your call in a timely manner.... Signs and symptoms of an ocular emergency include: sudden onset flashes/floaters, sudden onset double vision, eye injuries, sudden vision loss, and any red painful eyes with discharge or a history of contact lens wear. We understand many of you may have glasses or contacts waiting for pick up in our office. Due to health recommendations, we are currently unable to be open for pick ups at this time. We will continue to update you as the situation changes as to when we will be open for pick ups and booking appointments for routine exams. Thank you again for your support and understanding during this time as we continue to work to help flatten the curve.

COVID-19 UPDATE Under the advice of the CDC, WHO, Health Canada and the Alberta College of Optometrists, Eyewear and Vision Centre will be closing our office doors at the end of business today for a minimum of two weeks (April 2). We will not be seeing anyone for routine exams or emergency patients at this time. As more information becomes available to us, we will inform you as to what clinics in the area will still be seeing medical emergencies. If you have glasses or conta...ct lenses to pick up, we ask that you do so by 5pm today. Our phone lines will still be open to answer any questions about ocular emergencies and to point you in the right direction. We are not currently booking appointments but are more than happy to take your information and will contact upon the resumption of business. This is not a decision we take lightly and we appreciate your understanding. We will be re-evaluating the situation in two weeks time to assess if it is safe to open our doors again. We will continue to keep you updated if there are any further changes. Thank you for your continued support during this time. We look forward to being able to meet your ocular health and optical needs in the near future.

COVID-19 UPDATE At this moment in time, Eyewear and Vision Centre will continue to remain open. The situation is constantly evolving by the hour and we will update you as changes occur. As usual, we continue to sanitize all our equipment between each patient and have heightened cleaning measures within the office. As of right now, we are currently seeing patients who have already pre-booked appointments. If you have travelled out of the country in the past 14 days, have sym...ptoms such as a cough, fever, runny nose, sore throat, shortness of breath or are generally feeling unwell, we again ask that you please reschedule your appointment if it is not a medical emergency. Please try to attend your appointment alone so we can limit the number of people in our waiting room. Going forward, we will be aiming to focus on urgent care. We will not be taking walk-in appointments at this time. If you are due for your routine exam please consider practicing social distancing and help flatten the curve by staying home and booking an appointment at a later date and time. If you have believe you have an ocular emergency please call our office instead of coming in to the clinic in person and we will triage over the phone. We ask that you only come to the clinic in person if you have a scheduled appointment. All other questions should be able to be answered over the phone. The safety of our staff and patients is our top priority. We will remain open as long as it is safe to do so. Thank you for your support and understanding.
