ICYMI: Artist and researcher Paul Coldwell kicked off Art & Design, UAlberta's 2020 Visual Arts & Design Forum in September. In this video, Paul speaks to the role of printmaking and its relationship to everyday objects, plus wider issues of migration, journey, absence and loss.

This Halloween, check out 'A Cold Sweat' - a spooky outdoor art show at Lowlands Project Space (over in Highlands at 11208 65 St.) that features the work of 15 artists from across Alberta, including many Art & Design students and alumni. The show runs until November 7 and all ages are welcome, with a suggested donation of $10 to support the wonderful artists and their work.

In FAB Gallery's latest exhibit, "Patterns Within," artist Kathleen Murray blends a unique combination of acrylic painting, pyrography (wood burning pens) and woodcarving. Here's a look at the making of one of her pieces, "Ecosystem Engineers." This is the final week to check out Kathleen's exhibit. Don't miss her series of beautiful paintings inspired by the landscapes and wildlife of Algoma, Ontario.
