Our associate partners undergo a rigorous training process before we sign them up. One way of testing their learning retention is by having them solve an actual tax return manually (old school approach). To most of you wondering how your tax return is done, more details below. We let them solve the problem in 30 minutes (basic single return and a couple/family return). A snapshot of the Income Tax Return formula is attached. This is compressed as there are 5 to 6 steps of do...ing it. The first basic step is using a linear algebra model which is the Simplex Method. Your goal is to maximize Z (which is the tax refund) and by using certain set of variables (time, EI claims, tuition and donation claims, provincial and federal credits, RRSP/RPP contributions, etc, they get subjected to a series of algorithms (X1, X2, X3, S as they get designated to). They are then subjected to a series of advanced mathematical models like Fourier Transforms, Laplace Transforms, Finite Elemental Analysis, and various financial derivatives modeling, and Monte Carlo simulation. Only when they get the maximum value for Z that they can do another set of regression analysis to determine the correlation between time and refund. If they fail, we do not sign them up, it is that simple. Wait, what? None of this is not true, not even close. Happy April Fools Day!!!
