Time for a fresh update on Neil's progress since surgery... On the whole, he is progressing faster in his recovery than the medical team expected. He continues to be up and walking for short bouts, but is feeling very tired and very sore (understandably). He's still spending a lot of time in bed and sleeping, which is to be expected at this point. I (Leigh) had a brief chat with him today via videoconferencing and he is in good spirits. He wanted to say thank you to all the p...eople that have reached out and sent him well wishes. I think he was genuinely surprised at how many people took the time to wish him well with surgery and his recovery. We will continue to keep you updated. Thanks for your concern, well wishes, positive vibes, and prayers!

Time for a little update on Neil... The surgical team woke him up yesterday morning and all is well. He got his breathing tube out yesterday afternoon. He has been sleeping a lot. He had a very short conversation with his sister earlier today and mentioned that he is sore but otherwise feeling okay. On the whole, he is doing a bit better at this point in his recovery than the medical team was expecting and may be able to have some short online or phone conversations with people in the next few days. Thank you to everyone for your concern and your support of Neil. We'll continue to keep you posted!

Thanks to everyone for your thoughts, prayers and good vibes for Neil Watt, our bass player, who underwent open heart surgery this afternoon. The surgery was planned to be approximately 6 hours and reportedly took an additional hour or so to address a few minor, unexpected issues. Neil came out of surgery earlier this evening and the doctors are reportedly pleased with the outcome. We're told that the medical team will wake him sometime tomorrow. Then the long process of rec...overy will begin. It will certainly be several days until Neil is in any shape to interact with anyone, but he asked us to thank everyone who sent him well wishes via text, phone, or Facebook. He seemed pleasantly surprised by the amount of well wishes and concern for him. We promise to keep you updated as things progress!

For those of you who know Neil Watt, our bass player, we thought we would provide a bit of an update on Neil's health. As some of you know, Neil has had a chronic heart condition for many years that has been worsening over time. It has now worsened to the point that he needs open heart surgery and he has been scheduled for surgery this Friday, March 12th. For those who believe in prayer, good thoughts, or sending positive vibes, this would be a good time to send them Neil's ...way. You may even want to drop him a note on Facebook to say hello and wish him well before surgery. We're all hoping that, with the implantation of an LVAD (left ventricular assist device), Neil will be back to feeling relatively well and will get back a relatively decent quality of life that will allow him to do the things he enjoys again (including playing with Faces for Radio). However, there are significant risks with open heart surgery, of course. We promise to update everyone as things progress. We hope you are all well and staying safe.
