AFA Chemical Peels work by removing a portion of the acid mantle layer of the skin. These peels remove access oil, give greater moisture retention, no sun sensitivity, deep exfoliation, improve pigment irregularities and help to reduce the signs of aging. ... AFA Chemical Peels are one of the most advanced applications in skin care and will immediately produce smoother, softer, and younger looking skin. They are based on the same natural acidic amino acids that serve to retain moisture in the skin. They are potent antioxidants and extremely helpful in improving skin conditions like photo pigmentation and sun damage. Their formulation is as effective as a glycolic peel or an AHA peel but with less irritation. They are specifically designed for clients with dry and/or more sensitive skin. AFA Chemical Peels come in various strengths from 20% to 60% and each treatment is customized to your skin needs. For clients suffering from acne and/or oily skin, we recommend the 2 step AFA Clay Peel. A few ways in which your skin will benefit form AFA Chemical Peels -provide deep exfoliation for a much smoother softer complexion. (20% is often called the Bridal Peel for its dewy glow) -increase water retention in dry damaged skin -reduce the appearance of large pores making them more refined -dramatically improve the appearance of sun damaged skin -reduction in acne breakouts -reduces irritation and may even be used on Rosacea -provide 3x more antioxidants for the skin than AHAs in turn promoting a healthy skin environment Clients will often notice an improvement in their skin within the first few days to a week post peel. This is likely due to the immediate increase in moisture retention of the skin. A series of 4-6 treatments is usually recommended.
