One of the best things about busy days in the butcher shop is all the meat you get to take home with you! So grateful we don’t have to go to a grocery store to purchase meats!! We made about 240 packs of sausages today to fill some orders so I have 3 different flavours of sausage meat for a few different meals this week and a pack of Oktoberfest sausages for breakfast! #familyfarming #localbeef #butchershop

It’s been a busy weekend so far, yesterday we had an order picked up by Campbellton Berry Farm and I took a trip to the community pasture I use in Bay Roberts ...to check in on some of our cattle over there. Today has been another full day in the shop preparing orders for customers and prepping more beef for Marystown on Tuesday! We don’t get weekends off with farming! It’s 7 days a week all year round but I wouldn’t change a thing! See more

Here at N.Fagan Meats we also grow crops. My father Nelson Sr. does a majority of the crops. He grows carrots, potatoes, turnip, cabbage, parsnip, beats, kale, ...onions and sometimes an assortment of other vegetables in his greenhouses. I on the other hand grow summer savoury for Mount Scio Savoury Farm. We spent the majority of last week in between our other chores getting the ground ready and planting the savoury. It is all planted now and we don’t have to tend to it for another few weeks when we will have to start weeding it by hand. See more

My grandfather Jordan Fagan owne...d Lawlors Meats on Duckworth Street from 1964-1988 until he retired then my father Nelson Sr. Took over but opened the shop on the homestead. He is still in business but slowly retiring as I am taking over and expanding the business to make it my own. **Appreciation Post*** We are extremely grateful for all the support of our customers, family and friends during this time. We have sold out of our beef every week for the last 7 weeks but are working so hard to keep providing you with fresh local beef! We had six pigs come in and we also sold out of them in a few hours! Now more than ever we need to support our local economy so we can come out of this pandemic stronger than before. For all our customers outside of our area ...we will come to you as soon as we feel it is safe to do so.
