Twenty-twenty being what it was, I'm looking forward to the year-in-review spoofs as we approach December Thirty-first. Few have gone untouched by the pervasive struggles, hardships and loss that have been both CoVid-related and the reality of living in the "not yet" of future blessings. These are somber times. A little appropriately-placed laughter surely will be good for the soul.... Twenty-twenty has also been a year of Spirit-led resilience reflected in inspiring creativity, incessant pivoting and often just ordinary day-to-day, faithful plodding on. This has been true individually, as families, as communities, as cities, as provinces, and cascading out, as a country and, in a very real sense, globally. In our context here at Fairhaven, we’ve seen this close up in churches and in leaders as they have sought to hold space for the hurting, extend space for worship, and encourage space for gospel engagement with neighbours, colleagues, and our surrounding communities. We’ve had the privilege of being your hands and your hearts embracing leaders and their families throughout this year. Thank you for being part of the extended Fairhaven family and engaging this most worthy of visions. Your prayerful and financial investment brings about immediate impact in the lives and hearts of our guests . . . and in turn, the lives and hearts of those they serve. As we approach yearend would you prayerfully consider a financial gift to Fairhaven that will directly reach into the lives of leaders with the offer of rest, renewal and restoration? Gifts to Fairhaven can be received through our website, via mail in the form of a check, through Tithe.ly, or via e-transfer to [email protected]. To be receipted for 2020, gifts must be postmarked by December 31, 2020. Thank you for your ongoing generosity. On behalf of our Board, staff, and volunteers, Gwen and I wish you and yours God’s very best in 2021.

Pastor to Pastor - Wednesday's 10:00AM PDT After a summer hiatus we are back! Consider joining a weekly virtual drop in time for discussion, collaboration, and mutual support in light of the rapidly changing environment in which we find ourselves as pastors and leaders.... Perspective. Guest staying at Fairhaven this week have contended with a view very different from the norm here on the mountain. Ministry leadership has been like this, only for months on end now. Just when we were landed online services and all the technical aspects, "If, When? and How?" of regathering appeared with a flash on the ministry radar. Controversies, conspiracy theories, and the influence of QAnon seem to be obscuring the perspective of many in our faith communities. These are challenging and stressful times for leaders potentially eclipsing our calling and kingdom passion. Join us each Wednesday at 10:00AM PDT, a ZOOM drop in time where pastors and leaders across denomination lines and faith traditions can come together for mutual support, encouragement and prayer as together we navigate the changing realities of ministry life. To participate, please request a sign in link: [email protected] Blessings. "We don’t yet see things clearly. We’re squinting in a fog, peering through a mist. But it won’t be long before the weather clears and the sun shines bright! We’ll see it all then, see it all as clearly as God sees us, knowing him directly just as he knows us! (1 Cor. 13:12. The Message)
