We have a lot of people asking about what our mark-up is on wine in our new wine boutique - full transparency, it's about $10-$15 per bottle on average. We also have a lot of people asking why they should pay a mark-up on their wine, when they can get it at the LCBO instead? There are SO many reasons. Here are a few that we love: 1. Most of our wines can't be found at the LCBO. They are imported privately from vineyar...ds around the world. By paying a little extra, you have access to something that is exclusive (like paying a cover at a bar to see an amazing band or DJ - remember when we did those types of things? 2. We are committed to sourcing wines from sustainable vineyards. We invest in winemakers that are doing their part to build an environmentally friendly wine economy, so you can feel good about what you're drinking. We hope you want to make that investment too! 3. Each of our wines is hand-picked by our Sommelier, to pair perfectly with our foods. Our wines are tried and tested (often more than once!) so that we can help you find something that you're going to love. The small additional amount you pay goes to support the time our team puts into selecting amazing products and helping you find ones that suit your taste. The Middle East meets the The County While we transition to our new home in the Byward Market, take advantage of a very special opportunity to enjoy our signature cuisine! Join us Thursday, October 1st in Prince Edward County for A Taste of the Middle East, presented by Countylicious2020 in support of PEC Syria. Prince Edward County is known for its amazing farm-to-table cuisine, but there's much more to the culinary landscape that initially meets the eye. That's why we're te...aming up with PEC locals Adnan Mustafa and Suhaila El Husein, aka Papa Ghanoush and Momma Hummus, and Sleiman Al Jasem from The County Catch for an amazing Middle Eastern Feast. The evening will also feature appearances from Chef Jens Korberg (The Old Third), Chef Rebecca Hunt (Picnic PEC), wine pairings from The Old Third and Lebanon’s Chateau Musar, and a signature welcome cocktail featuring Kinsip spirits. This one-of-a-kind experience is not only a perfect way to kick off a long weekend in the County, but it's also a great way to give back to the Syrian community - a portion of proceeds from this event will go directly to PEC Syria.
