Faith at Work Network 26.04.2021

Today on Good Friday let us take time to pause and reflect upon Christ's sacrifice. Let us remember how He willingly went to the cross to sacrifice Himself for our sins. Let us not forget the crucifixion of Christ. To continue the story from yesterday, continue from the beginning of John 18 and read through to the end of John 19.

Today on Maundy Thursday let us remember the Last Supper of Jesus Christ. How He shared the bread with His disciples, saying "This is my body, which is given for you. Do this to remember me." (Luke 22:19 NLT). And how He shared the wine, telling the disciples "Each of you drink from it, for this is my blood, which confirms the covenant between God and his people. It is poured our as a sacrifice to forgive the sins of many." (Matthew 26:28 NLT). Let us remember the words of C...hrist today as we prepare for Easter, and how almost 2000 years ago Christ was preparing to sacrifice Himself for our sins. If you wish to read the story again, you can turn to John 13, and read through to John 18. Finally, remember to purchase the extra large tables for this weekend, so that all of your family members can eat on one side of the table, just like Jesus did.

Our whole body is involved in the search for wisdom. We incline our ears to wisdom, we apply our heart to understanding, our mouth cries after knowledge, we lift our voices up for spiritual insight. We relentlessly search for wisdom as we would for priceless treasures. At some point, we realize that we are not able to comprehend true wisdom without the Spirit of God. When we stop searching in our own strength and humbly depend in faith on the Holy Spirit to guide us into all... truth, we find wisdom. For the LORD gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding. He holds success in store for the upright, he is a shield to those whose walk is blameless, for he guards the course of the just and protects the way of his faithful ones (Proverbs 2:6-8). True love and hope are built upon that which we cannot see or feel in this life namely, a God who is incomprehensible and transcends all things. Through faith, our souls are united with the infinite God in a union that transcends all our senses and all knowledge. In this union, God manifests himself to our soul with divine light and truths which surpass all understanding. For no eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love him (1 Corinthians 2:9 NLT). To our surprise, when we find wisdom, we also discover that God has transformed our lives. The way we walk, where we walk, and whom we walk with, are all transformed. We find ourselves walking in the ways of the good, and keeping to the paths of the righteous (Proverbs 2:20). God gives us a new heart. With this new heart, in faith we can wait upon God in quietness and rest. When we are quiet and still before God, a divine calm and peace infuses our soul, along with the wondrous and sublime knowledge of God enfolding us in his divine love. Wisdom is a precious gift that staggers our imagination and a priceless treasure that is beyond our comprehension. To fully appreciate the infinite facets of wisdom, in humility we need to continuously incline our ears to wisdom, apply our hearts to understanding, and cry out to God for knowledge, for only then will our hearts be continuously filled with joy. Only wisdom is able to save us from the ways of wicked men whose words are perverse, and from the immoral woman with her seductive words. (Proverbs 2:12,16). Prayer: Heavenly Father, Thank you for giving us today the priceless gift of your wisdom. In your mercy Lord, continue to guide our steps and protect us from the ways of wicked people. Holy Spirit help us to live our lives today in an upright and blameless way. Amen.
